Renting.... who is responsible for damaged asbestos removal?
If a asbestos dividing fence has damage .Who is responsible to fix it.And can they claim money for an entire new fence because you cant replace the asbestos panels.And should we not have been informed when we moved in 2 weeks ago that the fencing was asbestos?
Botched asbestos removal...how do we clean the air now?
12% frail asbestos removed improperly with vacuum cleaners. Yes it was wetted but fine layer of dust everywhere. How do we clean air in the home now? Do hepa filters filter out asbestos, what filter would you recommend? Thanks. And no we're not living in the house atm until this is resolved.Oh and I realize this isn't going to be an instant process its going to take weeks or months to get to a safe level probably. Cleaning dust with wet disposable rags everyday, but we need to know what a good filter is.Its not violating the law when the homeowner removes it themselves.BTW all the contractors in the real world laugh about asbestos and think its a joke. Hence why we weren't too concerned about removing it.I'm sort of on the side of the asbestos panic is blown waaaay out of proportion atleast the crystallite type. the blue stuff from Australia maybe is another story but i'm staying out of the house until we know more.
Strong chemical odor in house after asbestos removal?
My house was flooded, and when the restoration company came out, they told me my vinyl flooring contained asbestos and an asbestos removal company needed to remove it.The company came out and informed me it was a high risk removal due to vinyl on concrete. They worked solid for the past 2 days and completely sealed off the area. After they took down everything and left yesterday, I've noticed a very strong chemical type smell throughout my house. In fact, today it seems stronger than when they left. Does anyone know what this smell is, and should I be remaining in the house? I am a cancer survivor so am extremely cautious when it comes to chemicals.Thanks for answers. I should add that the restoration company have driers and dehumidifiers working 24 7 in this area now so is probably responsible for blowing the odor throughout the house. They want all doors and windows to remain closed. They are not available over the weekend, so can't call till Monday. I don't know if my ins. co. also closed would pay for a motel until then.
Asbestos removal cost?
Hey, my husband and I are looking into buying a tiny little house, built in the 1930s. The home is only 900 sq feet at worst, what would asbestos removal range in price? Under $1000? We want to knock a few walls down, so your tips are appreciated And is buying a home with abestos worth it? The home is underpriced and in an awesome neighborhood. THANKS
